Excitingly, for those competing fiercely for victory in Enduro 100, a qualifying spot for a full-strength UCI Mountain Bike Enduro World Cup round is up for grabs if you claim the top position.
Where is it?
Val di Fassa is in the north Italian region of Trentino. Renowned for its winter sports, come summer the area turns into a mountain bike playground, and the surrounding Italian Dolomites make for an amazing backdrop to the action.
Located about 100km from Bolzano and nestled at the foot of the majestic Marmolada – the Queen of the Dolomites – the town of Canazei is the beating heart of the area, with the vast network of trails that surround the Alpine resort as the perfect setting for a UCI Enduro World Cup.
What is the course like?
While Enduro courses change each year, riders are in for a descent-heavy day if the selection of stages for the 2024 UCI Mountain Bike Enduro World Championship is anything to go by. Also, the resort’s gondola system means that athletes can shuttle their way to high alpine locations without liaisons turning into pure climb-fest.
It was a French-dominated UCI Enduro World Championships in Val di Fassa, as Alex Rudeau (France) and Isabeau Courdurier (France) made history by winning the format’s first rainbow bands. The 2023 UCI Enduro World Cup at the venue meanwhile was won by Matthew Walker (Pivot Factory Racing) and Courdurier (Lapierre Zipp Collective).
In addition to the elite competition, the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series at Val di Fassa, Trentino, will also offer amateurs the chance to go between the race tape in Open Racing. Participants can test their skills in the Enduro and E-enduro categories and experience the full UCI Enduro World Cup course!
