Location and Courses

Where is it?

Val di Sole bike park is located in the region of Trentino, just south of the Italy-Austria border. The area is rich in mountain bike racing heritage and the bike park has nearly 400km of trails and mountain bike routes. Nestled in the heart of the Sole Valley, its just north of Lake Garda and 200km northwest of the closest major city, Milan.

What are the courses like?

The Val di Sole offering is renowned for being as steep as the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series tracks come, and the terrain under tyre is some of the most difficult riders will encounter all year. Packed with roots and ruts, its mixture of machined, man-made sections and raw, natural lines have been known to catch out even experienced hands.

Who were the most recent winners?

The 2024 UCI Cross-country World Cup saw four different race winners across the weekend – Samuel Gaze (Alpecin-Deceuninck) and Puck Pieterse (Alpecin-Deceuninck) putting in strong performances for the Dutch outfit in the Short Track (XCC), while Nino Schurter (Scott-SRAM MTB Racing Team) and Pauline Ferrand-Prévot (Ineos Grenadiers) tapped into their years of racing to secure the Olympic distance event.

In the Downhill, Amaury Pierron (Commencal/Muc-Off by Riding Addiction) and Tahnée Seagrave (Canyon CLLCTV FMD) rolled back the years, painting the Black Snack trail red, white, and blue in honour of their respective countries’ flags.

More than just racing…

Beyond the racing, the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series in Val di Sole, Trentino, will offer a vibrant atmosphere with live music, entertainment, an expo, and fan activations at the event village. Stay tuned for more details on how to attend or volunteer, coming soon!
